Extreme Challenge for Yutong Battery Electric Bus E18PRO at -25°C in Kazakhstan
Confronting the piercing cold of Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, Yutong battery electric bus E18PRO bravely embraced a rigorous extreme cold challenge. The driving range of 374 km was achieved after 16 hours of operation at -25°C.
Secret of E18PRO's Success in the Challenge
E18PRO adopts Yutong's most advanced battery, motor and electric control technologies. The battery liquid heating system can provide a better working temperature for lithium iron phosphate batteries. Customized control strategies are developed for frigid operation scenarios based on Yutong's operation experience of 180,000 new energy commercial vehicles worldwide. The heating mode of heat pump A/C effectively improves the interior heating efficiency, so as to ensure that E18PRO can maintain good driving range performance even under frigid conditions.

Yutong is the only battery electric bus brand entering the Arctic Circle, setting a new operation record of battery electric buses in the northernmost part of the world. Recently, Yutong battery electric bus U12 underwent an extreme cold challenge in Kirkenes! In the live test, Yutong U12 completed the challenge in an ice and snow environment in Kirkenes where the temperature was -33°C.
