Shanxi Province which is situated in the central region of China, adjacent to Beijing, Tianjin, Zhengzhou, Luoyang, Xi'an, Xianyang industrial center, and close to Shanghai, Shenyang, Wuhan and other cities, has become an important transport hinge, and road transport is one of the main mode.
According to statistics, there are 1048 passenger coach operators, 58 tourist coach operators, 85 city bus operators in Shanxi province, all of which has a total number of 15,700 vehicles, of approximately 13,100 passenger coaches, 1240 tourist coaches and 1300 mini buses.        

As a major force in Shanxi Province, passenger coach plays an important part in road transport, and the major operators are Shanxi automotive transport Group (including 8 subsidiary companies) and Shanxi Bingzhou transport company, most of which the length of vehicles is among 6-8 meters, a market share as high as 80%.
During the decade from 1998 -2008, Yutong dominated the large and medium-sized segment of Shanxi province, with an average annual sales of 130 million yuan, about 450 passenger coaches every year.
In January-May 2009, Yutong has achieved a total sales amount of more than 70 million yuan in Shanxi province, far higher than that of other enterprises.
