Through joint efforts of the company’s different departments, three prototypes for VEOLIA city bus project have undergone the process of trial production, tests, authentification of government and acceptance of customer within 60 days, achieving a staged success of the project.

Before the Spring Festival of 2011, VEOLIA city bus project, key project of Yutong’s International Business Department in 2011, was launched. It involves three bus models and 245 units in total, which is the first time for Yutong to enter the public transport market in Macao in batch. Meanwhile, it is also the first time for Yutong to cooperate with French VEOLIA company, world’s leading public transport operator. The success of the project will impose a significant impact on Yutong’s overseas market as well as international cooperation of large projects.

Facing the situation of heavy task with limited time, the technical system of the company responded very quickly. The leaders of the technical center personally supervised the work-out of the plan as well as its implementation, and required to fulfill the delivery schedule of the products under the premise of ensuring the reliability and adaptability of the products.

From March to April of 2011, the officials of Macao transport authority inspected the prototypes two times, and proposed modification views according to the requirements of regulations and operations. Since many requirements on electrics and bus bodies were never encountered before, the product manger had organized the project team and engineers many times to analyze the customer’s requirements and the corresponding regulations in a bid to ensure the acceptance of the products by the customer.

With the cooperation of different divisions in the technical system, the prototypes have been further improved and optimized. Ultimately, the customer was very satisfied with the final status of the vehicles

The success of this project will enhance the cooperation between VEOLIA and Yutong in the international bus transport area.
