New energy buses are one of the main drive to boost the development of bus industry, especially the hybrid buses and gas buses see a rapid development, hence Yutong is building the new energy vehicle plant.

Xu Xiao, deputy manger of marketing dept. of Yutong Bus Co., Ltd., said among the new energy buses sold by Yutong, the hybrid buses accounted for about 30 percent due to its better adaptability in the market. At present, the industrialization technology research project of Yutong plug-in hybrid city buses has been selected in the “863 Program” of the National 12th Five-Year Plan, which is also the only project of bus enterprises. This technology is expected to be popularized in 2013. In 2012, Yutong will launch hybrid city buses of 10~18 meters as well as electric city buses of 7~14 meters. Till 2015, Yutong will have a full range of fuel-saving and new energy bus products.

It is learned the Yutong’s new energy vehicle plant, which has an annual production capacity of 10,000 units, is expected to be put into use at the end of this year.
