The 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) will be held in Beijing from September 4 to 6. Since FOCAC was officially established in 2000, it has promoted the development of China-Africa relations.

As the Forum is approaching, Yutong has also ushered in brilliant achievements at its 20th anniversary of entering Africa: With excellent product quality, professional service and leading technology, Yutong has developed into the largest Chinese bus brand in Africa and become a representative for "Made in China" in Africa.

Twenty Years of Diligence to Promote the Friendship between China and Africa

Over the past 20 years, Yutong has insisted on taking root in Africa and continuously penetrated the African market with international vision and unremitting refinement and innovation, achieving a leap-forward breakthrough from zero to fruitful outcomes. Yutong has customized solutions for every country. The strategy also applies in Africa to enhance customer satisfaction. Up to now, Yutong has sold more than 20,000 vehicles in Africa, accounting for 38.6% of China's total bus exports to Africa. It has made contributions to improving and optimizing the public travel environment in Africa and leading the transformation towards green travel.

Yutong has successively established complete sales channels and service networks in nearly 50 African countries, including South Africa, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Tanzania, Angola, Ghana and Algeria. Moreover, Yutong has been delivering products in scale, which are well recognized and trusted. Since 2024, Yutong Bus has successively gained major orders in Rwanda, Tanzania, Egypt and Mauritania for its profound industry accumulation, excellent product quality and customized technology development capability, and gradually established long-term stable cooperative relations with customers from all over the world.

Yutong has continuously made breakthroughs in the high-end market of Africa. In 2019, for instance, Yutong airport shuttle buses were delivered to African countries in batches, 10 of which were battery electric delivered to Morocco. It is also the first time China's electric shuttle buses have been exported to overseas markets in large quantities.

Yutong keeps exploring the African market to cooperate with exports of product, technology, and standards. Yutong has been setting up KD factories and employing local staff. It has not only improved local industrialization, but also provided employment opportunities, boosting Africa's economic development and effectively fulfilling the goal of extensive consultation, joint construction and win-win cooperation between China and Africa.

Facilitating Africa's energy transition

In 2023, Yutong delivered the first electric bus in Lagos, Nigeria's economic center. Subsequently, Mauritius, Rwanda and other countries have also brought new energy buses successively to promote the green transformation of public transport across Africa.
