Yutong IC12E Conquers Full-Scenario Challenge Across Four Nordic Countries, Redefining "High Standard Battery Electric Intercity Bus"!
Recently, Yutong's new battery electric intercity bus IC12E has successfully passed the world's first long-distance full-scenario test, covering 1,272 km across Germany, Denmark, Sweden, and Norway. The IC12E delivers outstanding quality and reliable performance, validated by rigorous European standards.
From Hamburg, Germany to Copenhagen, Denmark, it has traveled 510km on a single charge. The SOC dropped to 28% from 99%, with about 173km showing on the range indicator, demonstrating impressive range performance.
From Copenhagen, Denmark to Gothenburg, Sweden, Yutong IC12E has traveled 327km across the fairy-tale kingdom and Nordic fjords with robust performance. In charging tests, the SOC increased from 13% to 99% in just 1 hour and 40 minutes by using single plug.
On continuous uphill roads in Norway, the bus ran effortlessly with its strong power and gradeability, achieving a maximum gradient of 20%. After a long journey of 1,272 km, Yutong IC12E successfully arrived at Oslo, Norway, with a total power consumption of 926 kWh and an impressively low average of 0.7kWh/km (under non-full load conditions).
The challenge aimed to fully verify its excellent performance and adaptability of IC12E under real working conditions. The fact proved that Yutong IC12E, as “High Standard Battery Electric Intercity Bus”, has withstood the rigorous tests of European standards.
The Yutong IC12E "1,200 km All-Road Challenge" generated widespread attention from the very beginning. After the challenge was launched, overseas users flooded Yutong’s official social media platforms with comments expressing their anticipation. The entire challenge was witnessed and documented by European local media.
Upon successful completion, the Yutong IC12E earned widespread acclaim from international media for its reliable performance, outstanding capabilities, and environmental adaptability. Prominent outlets such as Italy’s Adnkronos, Spain’s Europa Press, and PR Newswire praised the Yutong IC12E for its impressive debut at UITP and its excellent performance during the all-scenario test across four European countries.
As the birthplace of automotive industry, Europe maintains rigorous vehicle standards. Since entering the European market in 2005, Yutong has consistently achieved breakthroughs by deep insight into market needs, advanced manufacturing capabilities, and core new energy technologies. Yutong IC12E participating in the challenge is a new generation battery electric intercity bus developed by Yutong to address the economy and environmental adaptability of fuel buses.
The bus has just been unveiled at the UITP Summit 2025 in Germany, drawing immediate attention and interest from attendees. The successful challenge further demonstrated Yutong IC12E's outstanding performance in terms of range, energy replenishment, and power under real operating conditions in Europe.
