Yutong launches DMT&YEA technologies in Pakistan, securing the largest electric bus order!
Yutong DMT&YEA Technology Launch Event was held in Lahore, Pakistan recently, where Yutong debuted its new generation DMT&YEA technologies, four flagship bus models (H9, H12, E9, E12PRO) and its upgraded service brand EnRoute+. Yutong also signed a groundbreaking 400-vehicle electric bus deal with local operator WIL, marking the largest single order of new energy buses, the largest segment-specific order of buses, and the largest order of buses and coaches in Pakistan, creating a historic milestone of “Three-Largest”.
The Minister for Transport & Masstransit Department of Punjab in Pakistan, Deputy Consul General of Chinese Consulate General in Lahore, CEO of Yutong Bus Middle East, Wah Industries Limited Executive, CEO of Punjab Transport Company, Chairman of Punjab Masstransit Authority and major media representatives attended this signing ceremony.
17 Years of Dedication, Witnessing Mutual Success
Mr. Robin Shen, CEO of Yutong Middle East, stated: “Since entering the Pakistani market in 2008, Yutong has delivered over 3,000 buses, including fuel, hybrid, and battery electric models, capturing over 70% of the premium segments. The signing of this 400 order stems from our deep understanding of the local market and relentless technological innovation. With industry-leading core technology and upgraded EnRoute+ services, Yutong is committed to supporting the sustainable development of Pakistan’s public transportation.”
Mr. Cao Ke, Deputy Consul General of Chinese Consulate General in Lahore, said: “China and Pakistan share a long-standing partnership with stable cooperation across all fields. Our economic and trade collaboration has greatly benefited the peoples of two sides. Yutong’s efforts in promoting the green transition of public transport in Punjab are commendable. We look forward to further deepening cooperation to jointly advance Pakistan’s green transportation development.”
Mr. Bilal Akbar Khan, Minister for Transport & Masstransit Department of Punjab, stated: “The government is fully committed to electrifying public transport, a key initiative in implementing our climate change policies. The transition to electric mobility marks the arrival of a new era for sustainable transportation.”
Innovative Technology Empowerment
Mr. Paul Zhang, Managing Director of Yutong Pakistan, highlighted DMT & YEA technologies, and introduced four new energy flagship models tailored to Pakistan’s local climate and road conditions—the H9, H12, E9, and E12PRO bus products.
H9 and H12 feature Yutong’s advanced DMT hybrid system, eliminating the gearbox. The new generation of high-efficiency, high-power-density generators and motors is coaxially arranged. The gearbox-free design reduces mechanical failure rates while improving reliability, making it better suited for urban driving conditions including short-distance trips, low-speed operation, full-load starts, frequent deceleration, and idling waiting. Compared to conventional fuel-powered vehicles in the same class, Yutong H-series buses can achieve 30%-50% fuel savings on actual routes. The flexible driving modes adapt to various road conditions and operational needs.
E9 and E12PRO feature IP68+IP6K9K rated battery, motor, and electric control systems with dustproof and waterproof protections. The all-electric heating/cooling air conditioning and battery system integrated liquid cooling adapt to Lahore’s high temperature environment in summer. The mud protection and anti-condensation design of traction motor enables normal operation even in urban waterlogging environment during the rainy season. The air curtain above the passenger door effectively blocks outside heat from entering when doors open for boarding. The E-series models are better suited for areas with well-established charging infrastructure and have become an ideal solution for Pakistan against challenges of high temperature, heavy rainfall, traffic congestion, expensive fuel, and environmental concerns, delivering a cool, comfortable commuting experience.
EnRoute+ Enables Worry-Free Lifecycle Service Assurance
Mr. Hou Qiwen, Service Director of Yutong Pakistan, unveiled the upgraded service brand “EnRoute+” and reaffirmed the “Seven Worry-Free Service Commitments,” providing strong support for the smooth operation of both the 400-bus and future Yutong fleets.
In the future, Yutong will bring cleaner, more comfortable and efficient travel experiences to Pakistanis, and strongly support the green transformation and sustainable development of public transportation.
