The "Let's Go Green " event recently launched along Panfilov Street. in the heart of Almaty, Kazakhstan.Lively beats, eco-art installations, and families gathered around interactive exhibits underscored the city’s commitment to a greener tomorrow.

Jointly organized by Yutong, Almaty City Government, and the Chinese Consulate General in Almaty, with participation from local volunteers and Kazakhstan Industrial News, the event blended environmental education with hands-on experiences to promote eco-friendly transit choices. According to statistics, the event reached approximately 10,000 participants.

Visitors pedaled plastic shredders to transform bottle caps and other waste into reusable material at recycling workshops, crafting eco-friendly souvenirs onsite. Children painted eco-murals and VR stations simulated future cityscapes.

Participants earned transit passes through quizzes, blending environmental education with accessible engagement.

At the opening ceremony, Chinese Consul General Jiang Wei emphasized: “Our countries are bound by a strong friendship and a shared vision for sustainable development. Today, by supporting the ‘Clean Kazakhstan’ initiative, we are building a greener, cleaner, and more beautiful future together.”

Deputy Head of the Department of Ecology and Environment in Almaty, Madiyar Kozhekenov stated: “Last year, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev launched the ‘Clean Kazakhstan’ initiative. It received broad support among the population. Today, every resident contributes to environmental responsibility, and the Let's Go Green is yet another step in this direction.”

As a global leader in bus manufacturing, Yutong maintains its pioneering role in green mobility. Li Haifeng, CEO of Yutong Central Asia, highlighted operational progress: “Green is the foundation of urban growth, and a low-carbon approach is the direction of future transport. Our dual-powered trolleybuses already operate across Almaty, delivering safer, comfortable and eco-friendly commutes. In the future, we will continue to work with the local authorities and our partners to introduce electric buses and smart transport solutions.”

Deputy Akim of the Almaty district Ruslan Idrisov stressed: “Real change starts with daily choices. Events like the Let's Go Green help involve citizens in real change. This turns abstract ideals into concrete actions. Today marks tangible progress.”

Throughout the week, satellite events at transit hubs engaged commuters through eco-quizzes and immersive VR tools, deepening public understanding of green mobility.
