In Europe, a big change is taking place. In order to reduce the air pollution, conventional fossil fuel city buses are gradually being replaced by new energy vehicles, and the transformation of new energy vehicle technology is changing the world.
As the most economically developed region in the world, Europe has raised the environmental protection issue to a political height. The EU has set the carbon emission standards, and stipulated a clear schedule for the sale restriction of fossil fuel vehicles.
Finland is one of the most developed countries in Europe. Finns have a high requirement for the quality of life and attach great importance to environmental protection. It is reported that by 2025, 30% of the buses operated in Helsinki, capital city of Finland, will be electrified.
In August 2019, Finland introduced 33 Yutong full electric buses for the first time, marking the official entry of Finland into the era of full electric public transport. This is the first time in Finland to purchase full electric buses in sizable volume, and Yutong full electric buses have become the only electric buses in Finland that are currently being operated.
Up to now, the 33 Yutong full electric buses have been operating smoothly in Finland for three months, and highly praised by the local operator thanks to their advanced technologies and performance. Meanwhile, these eco-friendly vehicles have also brought a new and nice mobility experience to the Finnish people living on this land.
"I don't want to switch back to the previous gasoline and diesel buses. I have been driving for more than 30 years, and this is the most comfortable and convenient vehicle I’ve ever driven. The bus can start to run as soon as I step on gas pedal slightly," a Helsinki bus driver said. The Yutong full electric buses run quietly and smoothly in the city which are favored by local citizens.
"The facts proved that Yutong full electric buses have met our requirements in terms of passenger space, ride comfort, energy consumption, safety, after-sales services, etc., and made us feel rest assured," expressed the superintendent of the Helsinki Transportation Bureau while speaking of the Yutong full electric buses.
In Iceland, another Nordic country, 16 units of Yutong full electric buses have been operating smoothly for one year and a half.
Located in the Arctic Circle with a high latitude and cold climate, Iceland is a natural test ground for testing full electric buses. The chairman of the board of directors of the Icelandic GT Group, the importer of these vehicles, said: "In last winter, Iceland saw a temperature of minus 20 degrees Celsius for three weeks. It was out of my expectation that no problems were occurred with these buses." This showcased that the batteries and performance of Yutong buses are very excellent.
In the cold and rainy Iceland, the electric buses often enter the mountainous area from the urban area, and have to pass through some wading road sections. Yutong full electric buses have withstood the test. The protection of batteries and electric motor of Yutong full electric buses has reached the highest level of IP68. For the extremely cold climate in Iceland, Yutong also creatively developed a complete set of low temperature solutions.
In the past years, Yutong continuously developed the European market and gained the recognition of customers. Its efforts really paid off: three awards on the Busworld Brussels 2019, 33 units of full electric buses exported to Finland, 16 units of full electric buses to Iceland, 20 units of full electric buses to Denmark... Nowadays, Yutong is gradually influencing the lives of European people with its excellent products and services, and bringing a new experience of green mobility for the public.
