Chilean Minister of Transport & Communications visits Yutong
Paola Tapia, Minister of Transport and Communications of Chile, paid a visit to Yutong New Energy Bus Plant during her visit to China on August 31, 2017. She inspected Yutong's production and operation as well as the new energy bus industry status and technical development. In the meantime, the minister also knew about Yutong’s involvement into the city bus tender of Santiago, capital city of Chile.
Accompanied by Niu Bo,general manager of Yutong Bus, and taking ride with a Yutong full electric city bus, Para Tapia and her delegation inspected the electrocoating line of whole vehicles, high speed endurance test track, final assembly workshop and show bus area. At the electrocoating line, Niu introduced the research and development history, operating principle and production layout of the electrocoating technology. Yutong’s advanced technologies and processes have left a deep impression on Tapia.
On the show bus area, Tapia personally boarded the E12 full electric city bus which was made for the public transport project of Santiago. She praised that the vehicle is good-looking, the seat back is very comfortable and the low floor structure facilitates the access of passengers. After learning that the Chilean Certification Department had already come to the plant for inspection and the vehicle was fully in comply with the Chilean laws and regulations, Tapia expressed that she hopes one day she would see hundreds of Yutong buses running in Chile.
In an interview with Chilean television station, Tapia said "Yutong has leading technologies in the industry, and Chilean people are keen to take electric buses. The bus behind me (E12) makes their dream come true. As the first full electric bus to be introduced to our public transport system, it has important significance. The government has promised to provide quality vehicles to the public, and today it has eventually become a reality!”At the end of the visit, Niu presented a Yutong bus model to Tapia, and both parties took photos in front of Yutong E12 full electric bus.
