Yutong Internet of Vehicles: Core Engine Driving Intelligent Operation
The Internet of Vehicles (IoV) technology is an important infrastructure for the development of intelligent transportation and autonomous driving in the future. With the emergence of 5G, artificial intelligence, big data, and other technologies, the IoV is increasingly becoming an integral component of intelligent transportation networks and smart cities. The Yutong Global Bus V+ITS platform leverages the intelligent connected terminal iCard to deliver network services to vehicle operators via both PC and mobile devices. This effectively facilitates transformative advancements in traffic management, fleet operations, and travel services, thereby enhancing the operational efficiency and safety of the overall transportation ecosystem.
In multi-dimensional scenarios, how does Yutong IoV platform realize intelligent management?
Yutong IoV Platform can provide a one-stop management and data application for customers’ vehicles, covering four major application scenarios of vehicle safety, energy consumption, charging and after-sales management, providing customers with intelligent tools to effectively reduce costs and increase efficiency.
Safety management
Security management is crucial to vehicle operation, including all-round protection of vehicles, data, networks and users. Yutong IoV has innovatively developed real-time monitoring capabilities, message alerts, and electronic fence functionalities for vehicles. The electronic fence monitors the vehicle’s location in real time via an intelligent network terminal while utilizing cloud control or alarms based on calculated location data. Vehicle operators can customize one or more designated areas to create a virtual fence; the intelligent connected terminal assesses whether the vehicle is within this fence according to its real-time location and generates prompts based on predefined parameters—such as limiting speed to no more than 30 km/h upon entering a specific zone. In addition, it supports automatic disabling of fuel heaters once the vehicle enters the fence and issues reminders when the state-of-charge (SOC) of the battery falls below 80%. During events like the Qatar World Cup, drivers may encounter safety challenges due to excessive speeds at large field stations; by implementing electronic fence, we successfully restricted vehicular speeds within these zones while systematically recording instances of speeding—thereby significantly enhancing management efficiency.
Charging management
The charging management aims to enhance the charging efficiency of electric vehicles through big data analysis, prediction and intelligent scheduling. Notably, peak-valley charging technology can be integrated with various electricity pricing regulations to generate charging statistics, thereby assisting customers in comprehending their charging efficiency and providing essential data support for optimizing their charging strategies. Additionally, it incorporates European standard charging stations (OCPP protocol), enabling the platform to facilitate cloud-controlled initiation, termination, and reservation of charging sessions. This system can significantly reduce overall charging costs in a more direct and expedient manner.
Energy consumption management
The energy consumption management includes remote air conditioning control, driver driving behavior analysis and other functions. The operation administrator issues instructions via PC or APP. The technology also supports periodic control of the vehicle A/C (timed on/off) periodically in batches and scheduled starting of A/C in advance as per vehicle departure time, thus improving interior comfort. In addition, the driver’s behavior analysis function can scientifically evaluate driving behavior from four dimensions: safety, economy, comfort and vehicle protection. Analyze each trip accurately, and form a comprehensive result in multiple forms to facilitate accurate judgment and scientific management, thus improving management efficiency and reducing operating costs.
After-sales service
It includes such functions as service appointment and parts order tracking. Yutong IoV technology can realize one-button initiation for service appointment, and management of service progress. Meanwhile, it supports daily/weekly/monthly data query of after-sales service KPIs (including timeliness, parts supply, vehicle availability rate, average times of failures, etc.). In addition, the IoV platform can also be used to query the basic information, price and inventory of parts required by vehicles, initiate procurement requirements, as well as visualize parts order shipment and logistics status.
Data is the technical drive force of Yutong Intelligent Vehicle Cloud Service (V+ITS)
The upgrade of V+ITS solution is designed around five concepts: people orientation, full scenario application, open and compatibility, one-stop intelligent vehicle cloud service, and exquisite and simple design. The overall architecture of the V+ITS relies on intelligent service, Data Middle Platform (DMP), infrastructure and intelligent equipment to support operation. The core DMP uses the intelligent model independently developed by Yutong, cloud data platform and self-developed automotive operating system YOS as the core support, making full use of big data technology to improve digital operation capability. Yutong V+ITS provides complete solutions and paths from all-scenario intelligent service, and full life cycle digital operation to global service capacity building. It uses data to drive intelligent decision-making and innovation to drive digital operation.
