Growing Up with Safety: Yutong's Children's Road Safety Initiative Reaches Schools Across Kazakhstan
Recently, Yutong's Children's Road Safety Initiative was held in Kazakhstan, reaching nearly 500 children across six schools in four cities: Almaty, Karaganda, Uralsk and Shymkent. Since entering the Kazakhstan market in 2005,Yutong has worked closely with local partners in areas including bus products, local manufacturing, and technical training, while contributing to local community development through public welfare initiatives.

Learning Through Fun: Bringing Road Safety Education into Schools
Children’s road safety remains a serious challenge worldwide.Through road safety education sessions, hands-on vehicle experiences and interactive activities, Yutong's road safety program helps children learn essential road safety knowledge and develop safer travel habits.

During the events, instructors guided students in recognizing traffic signs and understanding emergency exits on school buses.Children also had the opportunity to sit inside a bus and observe vehicle blind spots from the driver's perspective, helping them understand the associated risks and learn how to stay clear of these areas during daily travel. Interactive activities, such as a safety helmet relay race, further reinforced key road safety concepts through engaging, memorable experiences.

Since the program was introduced in Kazakhstan in 2022, more than 1,500 local children have benefited from the initiative. This Children's Traffic Safety Public Welfare Campaign is not only a campus traffic safety outreach, but also an important practice of Yutong’s deep-rooted local development and commitment to corporate social responsibility in Kazakhstan.
Localised Manufacturing Builds Industrial Capacity
Since entering Kazakhstan in 2005, Yutong has deepened collaboration with local partners to advance greener urban transport, bring healthcare services to remote communities, and boost local manufacturing capacity.
In public transport, Yutong became the first supplier to introduce new energy buses to Kazakhstan, helping the country become the first in Central Asia to widely deploy such vehicles. In April 2020, 100 Yutong E12 electric buses were delivered locally, offering residents zero tailpipe emission travel options.

Beyond urban transit buses, Yutong’s mobile medical units have brought healthcare to remote communities. In late December 2020, 100 Yutong mobile medical screening vehicles were delivered. Featuring health education, disease screening, chronic disease management and emergency care, these units make medical services accessible for residents in outlying areas.

Beyond vehicle supply, Yutong has also boosted local manufacturing and technical cooperation. In Karaganda, the company partnered with local businesses to establish a knock-down (KD) assembly plant, integrating technical training into daily production. Hands-on instruction in component installation, wiring harness inspection, welding and vehicle calibration helps local employees develop specialist skills.

Today, the plant is able to independently complete all key production processes, including chassis assembly, body welding, painting, final assembly and vehicle inspection. The facility has directly created nearly 1,000 local jobs and increased daily production to three to four vehicles. Through local manufacturing and technical training, Yutong continues to support the development of Kazakhstan’s bus industry with both manufacturing capabilities and a skilled local workforce.

Looking ahead, Yutong will continue working with local partners to contribute to safer, more sustainable mobility in more communities.
